But here we are now, ready to announce the winner of our monthly contest Show Your Best at The Colors Magazine. The idea of contest is to promote good writing and get more exposure for amazing blogs whose authors participate in the contest. It is amazing how many really talented people write in the blogs, sharing their views, opinions, perspectives with the world. And I am proud that we have created a small community of our own here.

Remember how 2 weeks ago we have started here on The Colors Magazine a new section called Monday Questions? I never expected such a great response. The thing is that we all have unanswered questions that haunt us, totrure us, take our peace away. And I hope that some of the answer can be helpful for you, or that you have answers that could be helpful for others.

21 people submitted their entries to the February edition of Show Your Best Blog Contest. 20 entries were in competition (1 entry was not eligible due to not following the contest’s guidelines).
And if I say it was tough to choose, I will not say anything at all. Let’s mention that over half of participants scored 30+ points out of 35. I remind you that the criteria on which I was evaluating the entries are the following:

Like promised today we announce the results of the contest The Colors Magazine has started here. The amount of entries for the contest was way more than I expected. 36 entries! However one of them was not eligible for the contest as the author did not have a post about the contest on his blog which was the condition for the participation. Out of 35 remaining entries it was really tough to choose the best as all of them have shown amazing writing and dedication to the topic and to blogging. To choose a winner I have developed the grading/evaluating system and each entry has received some score.

Yesterday at 11 PM Moscow Time I stopped accepting submissions for 55 Fiction Contest. The last 2 I received just 2 minutes before 11. During these 10 days I have received 40 entries from 33 authors. And it is way more than I expected. Initially I was worried that the contest might fail because I won’t get enough entries. I put for myself a number 20 as a number of entries which would make me satisfied if received. But as you can see the end number of entries exceeded all my expectations.

Alice blinked away a deceitful tear and closed her laptop.
An e-mail. Just an e-mail.
She curled up in her bed.
Breathe in. Breathe out. In. Out. In. Out.
It can’t be true, she thought.
But it was. She opened the laptop. Read again.
“…liked your manuscript… ready to discuss…”
It was real. She smiled.

Now, since it all started and I am receiving the first entries (What are you still waiting for?) there are questions people are asking me. So now I want you to be attentive and catch the most important details regarding the contest.
1. It is FREE. Means no entry fee, no money from you. You only write. That’s it.
2. ONE entry per person. However you can increase the number of entries by posting about contest on your blog/site, subscribing to my feed, joining my facebook group or following me on twitter. More about it you again can read here.

I am very happy to announce the very first fiction writing contest on The Colors Magazine.
As we all know contests are a great opportunity to share your writing and experience, to get valuable feedback on your creations. But more than that it is always a wonderful chance to meet people who love writing just as you do, to share perspectives and to learn. Yes, we do learn from each other and that’s the best part of all the contests.
The first contest on The Colors Magazine is dedicated to 55 Fiction. I am sure many of you have heard about it if not tried yourself. For those who don’t know or have forgotten about it I will explain one more time.
