Today as promised The Colors Magazine continues One City - 3 Facts column by taking a closer look at Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. The city which is mostly well known due to Red Light District as well as to its liberal policies toward soft drugs. Thank God, the city has much more to offer than just that.

Why Amsterdam? Maybe because this city is the only one which impressed me more than I had expected.

I mean you know what to expect from London or Paris or Rome, but you can’t be prepared to the feeling of freedom and beauty and even majesty of Amsterdam.

It is Tuesday and as promised The Colors Magazine is back with One City - 3 facts column. Today I want to present to you a city which most of you have never heard about. It is my hometown, Nizhny Novgorod (Russia). It is claimed to be Russia’s third/fourth largest city. Maybe it is not so anymore but the citizens of Nizhny Novgorod tend to ignore the fact of existence of some other large Russia’s cities and proudly call their home town the third capital of Russia (after Moscow and Saint Petersburg). Yet again, it might not be the third capital, but at least it is the capital of one of 7 Federal Districts of Russian Federation.

Each week you will get to read about different cities in the world and 3 most interesting, unusual or just fun facts about it. Of course there are more than just 3 facts to each of the city, but I will try to choose the less known or the most interesting for you. These won’t be the facts which you can find on the first pages of city-guides.
