Not Enough

Sometimes all you have is a dream. You stick to it; you hold on to it, and you caress it. Like a baby. Like a child that grows up into something beautiful and wonderful if you do the things right. Provided you do them right. Provided you know what is right. Provided you know what you are doing.

If I Had a Wish

If I had a wish I would wish for worries to vanish. I would wish for everyone to be happy.

For tears to disappear,
for pain to lessen,
for grief to fade away.

If I had a wish I would wish for my dreams to come true. It wouldn’t be selfish, I don’t have that many. Only this and that. No big deal. Just that they don’t work out. And if I had a wish I would make them. Work out, I mean.

Questions Unanswered

I have questions. Millions of questions. I have quite a number of how’s, several what’s, a few when’s, hundreds of what if’s, and one why. Obviously I don’t have any answers. Sometimes I wish I had them, sometimes I am happy I don’t. The problem is I am not even sure having the answers will help my problems, will help anyone’s problems for that matter.

Timely Relationships

According to Stephen R. Covey, little kindness and courtesies are so important. In relationships, the little things are the big things. How do you keep the flame of love burning? Do it in a T.I.M.E.L.Y fashion.

Love You, Forever - Short Story

It does not matter now, she thought. Nothing does. She will close her eyes and everything will disappear. The world. The tears. The pain. That was what she hoped for, that was what she believed in, that was what she had never tried before. Because if she tried and it didn’t work, she would have nothing left to have faith in. Because if she closed her eyes and the pain were still there, she would be broken. She would be destroyed. Ruined. Quashed.

Coming Home

Tabitha creased her sweater once again and wiped her tears.
She didn’t want him to know she’d been crying. He’d hate that.

Her eyes searched for that familiar face in the crowd that descended from the escalator.
Must be any minute now. She clenched on the barriers that prevented her to rush through the customs and find Carl herself.

Long Distance Relationships: Make It Work

Everything you’ve ever read, heard or seen in the movies about long-distance relationships is true: They’re risky, they’re challenging… and they can be the most rewarding time of your life. LDR’s aren’t for everyone, but for many who are forced to decide between maintaining the relationship across the expanse between you and ending it altogether, the choice becomes obvious.

3 Seconds: Taking A Joke Too Far

They met in a formal dinner. She was nervous. He was sweet. They both led very busy lives with very demanding careers. He managed to make quite an impression, until he took her to the middle of the floor, and asked her to dance the chicken dance with him. In a black-tie formal event. Utterly shocked, her eyebrows shot up as she asked him, “You’re joking right?”

Keep On Walking

Someone once said, love does not walk away, people do. I will add, and they take love with them. It is like taking it out of an old box, folding it carefully, packing into a bag and taking it away from you. And you are left with nothing but pain, memories and a great feeling of a loss. A loss of something big. Something important. Something meaningful. Once it is gone, nothing else matters. The world is not the same anymore. You are not the same anymore.

Memories for Sale

“Alright hun.” Claire asks as we start unloading the car. I could only shrug. My best friend Claire and her boyfriend were helping me sell my stuff at the local car boot sale. It was early Sunday morning and Kieren and I would still be in bed right now, reading the papers and eating breakfast if he hadn’t left me just over a year ago.

It was a really busy place with so many interesting stalls and people. So many people clearing out to make room for the new.

If Only: Short Story

She woke up and instantly checked the clock. 3 am. Not that bad, she thought. Yesterday it was 2 am, the day before she had not have any sleep at all. She hardly could sleep since he had gone. How could she sleep if he was not there. She was sitting on her bed, looking around, waiting, ready to see him enter the room. Though she knew he never would.

No One Waits Forever

“I love you!” he said looking into her sparkling eyes and waiting impatiently for a reply from her side. She blushed and whispered “I love you too” maybe a little too fast but who cares since these were words he has been waiting for for so long. He gave her a soft kiss on lips and they went together on the path of a new and happy life… life together”

He woke up from his dream knowing it would never come true as she got married just last month.

“I love you” she repeated again and again. Felt so good to be able to say it out loudly. And to hear the same magical three words back. To know that you are loved….

Life’s Guidebook

It is funny how you believe everything is fine and deep inside you understand nothing is.
It is funny how you trust your own decisions and at the same time you doubt them every day.
It is funny how you expect things to go one way because you know this is right.
And it is funny that what is right for you in no way right for someone else.
There are no stereotypes, clichés of how to deal with a certain situations. You don’t have a guidebook for each and everything. It would be much simpler if you had such a book handy.
