Several years ago, I had a roommate who moved back to her home on the west coast. At the time, I was residing in the Mid-Atlantic. We had packed up her belongings in the weeks leading up to moving day, and, on the morning of the truck’s arrival, used a dolly and man-power to remove it all. A few hours later, when the truck was packed up, we promised to keep in touch, said our goodbyes, and that was that. I then went about tidying up the place to fill in the spaces where furniture had previously been.

I took a quick straw poll amongst 50 of my friends, asking them to name their five major worries. I was amazed at how certain concerns appeared again and again - whereas some didn’t come up except in one or two lists. Here, then, is the sum total of what they told me:

We all make mistakes. Every minute of our life we take decisions, some of which turn out to be wrong. Often we are told to learn from others’ mistakes. But maybe we can learn more on our own. So you just go out there and make your own mistakes because you are left with no choice.

Busy schedules, crazy life rhythm, lost in school or office routine - life of today. What is it? Where is it? How is it? Do things like friendship, love, care, trust, understanding, beliefs still matter? Is there still something which we could call a miracle of life?
Lets think about HOW we live, first.
We concentrate on problems instead of giving a chance to new opportunities.
We live in the past instead of paying tribute to the present.
We dream of the future while wasting our life today.

Being far away from someone you love you worry more than usual, you care more than usual, you miss more than usual. Just because unlike many other people you can’t receive it or give it any moment you want to. And because the person you need most of all when you feel down can’t be always for you there. Though you understand that it is not their fault.
