What are the ingredients of a successful and happy family? It is about nurturing and maintaining cordial relationships of the people at home. Employ CHARMS to establish and develop a healthy home life.

Communication: Talk about anything and everything. The most important thing is to express ideas openly, precisely and clearly. On the other hand it is necessary to understand messages fully and accurately to avoid misunderstanding.

Harmony: Peace at home means to exercise self-restraint, considerate of other family members. Be patient and willing to sacrifice for the sake of the family. Resolve conflicts by apologizing and forgiving and making up. The key idea is to love the family

Appreciation: Mother is able to appreciate the role of father and father is able to value the work of mother at home. Children are appreciative of the care and concern given to them. Parents are also able to understand the needs of their children. Developing mutual trust at home is another way to show appreciation.

Respect: Respect is the right way to live. Children should show respect to their parents and parents should respect the rights of their offspring. Living respectfully together lubricates the interaction and relationships of family members at home

Mindfulness: A happy family does not dwell on the regrets of the past. They will also not worry too much about the future. They live and focus in the present and do the best they can to ensure a brighter future.

Support: The support and encouragement among family members in good and bad times provide the impetus for each and every one at home to look forward in life with confidence and high hope.

Do not take your family life for granted. It is the beauty of CHARMS that unites a family and makes it happen.

Interesting use of an acronym. I agrees with all of your points with listening being the most important. We so often don;t truly listen to one another.

    Thanks for sharing.

6 simple no-cost methods to a happy family - yet why is it so hard to apply these days? Today it’s like every person I meet is from a divorced/broken family. And people would rather employ expensive/hasse-full methods like visiting counsellors or go for talk shows… I wish more people would go back to basics and make the least effort to communicate, support, appreciate and respect each other.

We need more simple reminders like these in our lives. Lovely post :)
