Tell Your Love Story: Contest
Remember 55 Fiction Writing Contest? Remember how much fun it was? I do. And I want more fun. Let me assume you want more fun too. And here I am offering you an opportunity you can’t say ‘no’ to. I am offering you another WRITING CONTEST. I got your attention now? Great! Here we go. It is an official opening ceremony for Write Your Love Story contest. I bet you are even more attentive now. Are you?

What is it all about?
Write a love story, personal or someone else’s, fiction or real, sad or happy, beautiful or ugly, in any possible form, be it a poem, an essay, a story or something more original. But no more than 500 words.
Guidelines and Rules.
1. Anyone can enter
2. As already mentioned, write a love story, not more than 500 words. And yes, I will count them.
3. Only original work, not published anywhere before, not even on your own blog. The copyright remains with you, however, you grant me worldwide first electronic publishing rights to post (if chosen) your entry on The Colors Magazine.
4. Entries in English only
5. Entry is free.
6. One entry per person. However you may increase the number of entries if you
- Retweet this announcement on Twitter (+1 entry)
- Join our Facebook Group (+1 entry)
- Subscribe to The Colors Magazine via e-mail (+1 entry)
- Write about the contest on your own blog (+1 entry)
7. Entries should be mailed in the body of e-mails (no attachments, please) to info@thecolorsmagazine.com. If I do not respond within a day about receiving your entry feel free to contact me at thecolorsmagazine@gmail.com.
Deadline
The contest will last a month. From March 9th till April 9th. About the results’ announcement date I will inform later depending on the turnout.
Judging
As of now I am the only judge, if the number of entries will be more than I can handle, I will seek another judge, you will be informed about that. I judge originality, creativity, emotions, grammar and much more. You got to surprize me to make a winner. However to make all the chances even, this time in addition to the winner chosen by me we will pick a random winner with the help of random.org.
Prizes
I believe the best prize is writing itself. But it is much more fun when you have some real prizes as well. I can’t promise anything big (as the magazine is still not that big itself) but I still can offer you something.
Both winners will receive one month featuring on The Colors Magazine with a banner on the sidebar and a link to their website/blog. And since it is contest about love, I add a little bit extra. Lovely heart-shaped candle sets for each of the winners.
The best 10 entries will be published on The Colors Magazine in Tuesday Love Ramblings with an active link to the authors’ blogs (if they have any).
If you have any questions, please ask in comments’ section or mail me to info@thecolorsmagazine.com.
To receive updates about the contest you might want to subscribe to our feed.
Please keep in mind that you also still have time to submit for February Best Blog Post Contest. Read more about it here.

Hi Lena,
I got one query! And an important one indeed!
You mentioned that you will count the words to ensure they are under or excatly 500 words.
I count my words in either Microsoft Words or Words Count Tool,a tool online available and surprisingly get different rating in the count of words.
Kindly tell us, which mode do you choose to count so that we are sure about our prior countings.
However, I prefer MS-Words!
Luv Yeah!

@Rachana Shakyawar,
Hi Rachana, I will use MS Word for counting.

dear Lena,
I’ve been wondering myself, please correct me if my opinion is faulty, you didn’t mention about the deadline for the submission.
So practically, I can send my entry as long as the contest is held open, am I right?

what is judgment matrix you intend to follow ?

I remember I had replied that one to you once already.
Here are the criteria that are going to be judged:
creativity, originality, voice, emotions shown, and personal liking.
You might say it can be biased, but then that is the part of many contests as you can not exclude human factor. However an original story line or an interesting concept of presentation and writing skills are what I am looking for in a winner entry. No typos and proper grammar would be an advantage.
