February Contest Results

20 March 2010 8 Comments

Before I proceed to the contest’s results I again request help from all my readers. I have entered yet another writing contest and need your votes. Please drop by http://writingcontest.thenovelette.com/lena-2/, read my story and cast your votes.

Thanks you very much in advance.

Now to the most important part. 21 people submitted their entries to the February edition of Show Your Best Blog Contest. 20 entries were in competition (1 entry was not eligible due to not following the contest’s guidelines).

And if I say it was tough to choose, I will not say anything at all. Let’s mention that over half of participants scored 30+ points out of 35. I remind you that the criteria on which I was evaluating the entries are the following:

  • Originality (1-5 points)
  • Presentation of ideas, structure (1-10 points)
  • Creativity (1-5 points)
  • Grammar (1-5 points)
  • Voice (1-5 points)
  • Personal liking (1-5 points)

Now you can imagine what situation I was in with so many great blog posts which I needed to choose from. 3 people scored 34 points out of 35. Isn’t it an achievement in itself?

Welcome these amazing bloggers with their true gift to create words that touch your hearts and minds:

Adesi with the post Messages-s

Mehak with the post Nighttime Neurosis

Mansi Bhatia with the post Civility: A Golden Rule

Check their blogs and you will enjoy their writing as much as I did.

But you know what? To score 34 points was tough. Can you imagine someone scoring 35?? That is what happened. The winner post of February contest touched my heart and almost made me cry. Add to that that social issues were discussed and life philosophy and you will know why I was so hooked the moment I started reading. I guess now you have to check the post yourself.

The winner of February edition Show Your Best Blog Contest is Kavita with the post
Happiness is a Choice not Circumtance.

Congratulations!!

    Hi Lena,

I know how hard it is to judge a contest, you just want to give them all a nice home, but you can’t. It’s obvious that you care about the Colors Magazine very much, it shows in all the ways you’re building excitement here. Nice work as always!

would you please mention which post was disqualified from the contest for not following guidelines?

    [Reply]

    The Colors Magazine

I will mention it in private if the person who suspects he or she might have not followed the rules would contact me. I hope you understand.
But your comment made me think about situations like this and I guess starting from next contest I will mail people whose entries were disqualified so that they would know about it.
