I Wish
I wish I could sing
A song of starlight illuminating my path.
I wish I could write
A story of a gentle breeze showing me the way.
I wish I could paint
A picture of melody playing on my mind.
I wish I could live a peaceful and a quiet life.
But I have no voice to create a sound of music.
And I have no gift to express my feelings with words.
And it is a difficult task to paint in bright colors
Even though I tried for so many times.
But I know what it takes
To live simple and wise.
I just close my eyes
And follow my heart.
And it brings me at once
To the place I’ve dreamt of.
Where me is me, where life is life.
Where stars are my guides,
Where wind is my friend,
Where songs have no end…
I wish I could sing.
I wish I could write.
I wish I could paint.
But I know I can live.

PS: Tomorrow I will post information about the contest I am going to host. I hope you will participate. Or at least be active.

Oh yes you can write. But I loved this poem tho, it touches the ache to be satisfied with a simple life and the dissatisfaction, yet coming to terms with learning to be simply satisfied with all that we do have. Lovely.

WOW, this is such a beautiful poem! I have not read poems that good in a long-long time. You have a real talent with words Lena. Maybe one day you can publish a book of your poems, or at least an e-book? Just an idea. because your writing is excellent.

Good one again. Wishing for so many things keeps you cheered up. But coming to terms with the fact that all wishes will not come true is more important.
