Me and I: BFF
It’s amazing how in our life we rely on people. Even in the smallest of our decisions we need their appreciation and support. We want them to stick to us, help us figure out where we went wrong and how to get back to the right path. We need them to tell us what this right path is. And it is not because we trust them too much (well, the truth to be told, we do) but because we trust ourselves too little.
What if we screw up? Again.
What if we get hurt? For the umpteenth time.
What if things get messed up? Like they always do.
Just to make sure that everything goes the usual way we need certain people in our life to stop us from making mistakes or to wipe our tears when those mistakes have already been made. In a weird way friends make us weaker. We so rely on them that we are unable to make our own decisions. We accept it gratefully when they do it for us. Because then we can share the responsibility and at the same time get assurance that at least one more person except us thinks the same way and approves of our actions. Makes life easier, doesn’t it?
But it’s when they leave us we realize how weak we really are. Because suddenly the decisions taking is such a pain and confuses us a big deal. We are at a loss and don’t know where to go and what to do. All we want to do is to curl up in our own bed and be left alone so that we could nourish our grief and cry our heart out. As if it is not enough to be left by someone we deeply care about, we are also left with a vital need to make decisions on our own.
I believe what messes us up most of the time, is that we have these perfect picture of how things are supposed to be. And in this perfect picture we are never alone, we are surrounded with people - family, good friends, best friends, the ones who make us complete, the ones who help us through the toughest of days, the ones who have promised to be always there.
No matter what. No matter who. No matter how.
They promised to stick to you, to love you, to be with you, to care for you.
They.Promised.To.Be.With.You.
But… people always leave and it really sucks how in the end our friends turn out how they promised they wouldn’t. And the best friends of yesterday become strangers of tomorrow.
Sometimes you have to let go.
Sometimes you have to make your own decisions.
Sometimes you have to screw up on your own.
Sometimes you have to make your own mistakes.
Sometimes you have to feel the pain and use it to become a better and a stronger person.
Sometimes, the most important thing you’ll need to know, is how to be your own best friend

how true it is.

We just are always so hopeful that we hold on at times longer than needed, longer than it makes sense.

O dear Lena!
I’m simply in a way shattered to see that I have missed reading posts of yours after “Time heals everything”!
How?
Well then…I’m to be blamed for it…I’m a RSS member of your “Colors of my soul” and hence, ever since you stopped adding any new post in it…I got discontinued and disconnected in a way!
I’m so sorry…for all this…mess up
I’m getting back in pace and reading a loud your rest posts and grasping up in the flow.
However, in between I too made many changes in my blog and the most important is I made a century in posts. Yeah! It became more special as it was a time to pay back the same love and care you showered throughout!
Lena, I was in an assumption that you must have gone through my blog and that particular post…I guess you too missed in the same….pace…
Kindly go through the link and accept the award and honour me..!
