What Girls Want
I have seen this post by Americanising Desi and I totally loved it. And it inspired me to write on the same lines.
We all are different but it seems we all want the same. So here is my list of what a girl wants.
Warning: Long post ahead.
Fairytale
Ok, the knight in shining armor on a white horse might be a little bit overrated, but it still does the trick. He might wear old jeans and a washed up t-shirt though. We don’t mind. As long as he knows the basic structure of a fairytale.
- We are in trouble
- He rescues us
- We live happily ever after
A happy end is a must, a big advantage is if he had read this forward mail:
I WANT A GUY. . .
who would move the hair away from my eyes and then kiss me.
who would hold my hand in line at the mall and make all the girls jealous.
who would think I was beautiful even in my worst moments.
who would sing to me at random moments.
who would let me sleep on his chest.
who knows the right things to say and do at the right times.
who would beat the crap out of someone if they called me a b**ch.
who would call me 3 times a day if he went away.
who would let me gossip to him and would just smile and agree with everything I said.
who would throw stuffed animals at me when I acted dumb and then dog pile on me and kiss me a millon times.
who would bet kisses with me on who could beat who on a playstations game thats a millon years old.
who would make fun of me just to make me laugh.
who would take me to the park and put his hands around my waist and give me big bear hugs all the time.
who would kiss my neck just to have a reason to tell me how much he likes my new perfume… and we’d always take pictures in photo booths.
… and he would never turn down a trip to the boardwalk.
… and we’d play tag on the beach.
… and he would tell all his friends about me and smile when he did it.
… and we would sit on the floor and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
… and we’d make out in the pouring rain.I WANT A GUY…
who would tell me when he didn’t think something looked good and I wouldnt mind.
who would TRY to teach me how to play the guitar but we’d just end up laughing at each other.
who would run his fingers through my hair even if it was dirty.
who would never be afraid to say “I love you” in front of his friends.
…and we would argue about silly things with me then make up.
We would kiss at midnight on new years and make funny faces at each other when we’re on the phone.
He would count stars with me and be friends with my family.I want someone…
who would stay home with me on a friday night just to help me make a dinner and watch movies together under the same blanket and squirt water guns at eachother in the house.
who would tell me im beautiful but not too often.
who would look me in the eyes and tell me something serious that was also funny and make me promise not to laugh.
who would make me laugh like no one else could.
who would hold me closer than normal when I’m sick. But mostly… I want someone who would be my best friend and would never lie to me or break my heart . . .
Romance
Consider the same forward letter above. And yes you can include love letters, love notes, all the I miss you’s and I love you’s and moon walks and beach picnics and all the movies you watched together. Passion is a part of this too.
Care
It is not enough to say things, we want you to do them. If you don’t show that you care how would we know you actually do?
Protection
A man should protect his woman. That’s what we know. That’s what you should know too. It’s like a basic instinct. We need you. We might not say a word or even deny it, but we need you. We want to feel safe and loved. So you got to be there.
Humor
Once I read somewhere “If he made you laugh on the first day, don’t let him go.” Funny, but maybe that’s true. Make us smile. A smile cures.
Compliments
How tough is it to say “You are pretty.” Or “You look beautiful tonight.” But you got to mean it. We can see right through you if you say things just for the sake of saying.
Chocolates
Nobody knows why though. But does it really matter? “Other things are just food. But chocolate’s chocolate”.
Orlando Bloom… Or Johnny Depp for that matter
(can be someone else, it varies)
Yes, we have seen all the movies starring them, we have posters and secretly read fan forums, we can even write the blog’s posts about them. And no, we don’t hope they will notice us. And you don’t have to be like them. That’s not the point. Then what’s the point, you’ll ask? Well… you do love Jessica Alba, don’t you?
Time
Time for ourselves. Alone. A moment of solitude, you might say. When we can curl up in our bed with a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea (or coffee, or chocolate) and read a book (or books) without any disturbance from the outside world. Can be a fireplace too.
Shopping
You knew that, did not you? Yes, it is fun. Yes it is a therapy. And yes, we love it. No, you can’t object when we spend a month salary in one go. That’s how it works. Else it won’t serve the purpose. And the purpose is to make us happy, remember?
Simple things
Whatever life has to offer we would be more than happy to take it and be happy.
- walking in the rain
- looking at stars
- catching snowflakes on the tongue
- giving and receiving gifts
- knowing someone is missing you
- knowing someone loves you
- having someone to miss
- loving someone
- holding hands even after years of being together
- phone conversations
- and many more…
Why don’t you read about a cute polar bear here?? You will love him

If the question arise love vanish.
Listen heart And love - That should be the mantra.

O dear Lena! The images are so cute and believe me the post is not at all long not long as I have my posts:D
Moreover the journey to the experiences sensed in your BLOG is so worth and more than anything. Love care Romance shopping hug and all goody-goody things are definitely important but one cannot ignore the fact that…
…HE must also be a good COOK!
I’m so glad and blessed that my hubby can cook…every weekend he cook for me..
And every morning He wakes me up with so much care…as he knows without a say that cheerful morning is so important to build a good-day.
This is what I want from my Man…the embracing inevitable beauty in little things!
Beautiful post indeed! Keep posting more of such posts…which are so inspiring and aspiring!
Love U Yeah!!
Keep the Spark Alive..

Okay - I read this one as I do need to know what girls want. As I am seeming to be missing something. I am not sure what it is though, as I read the first few lines I realize I am the knight on the white horse. And while I may not always being riding to your rescue I can assure you that I will come take to the field in your honor on every occasion. Wish I could attach a picture, but can’t seem to be able to get that here. If you get to my site and click on author you can see me in armour on the white horse. Okay, back to read more.

Lena you did it again, and you matched photos so perfectly. I don’t know about my husband signing to me, but I probably would pick up few romantic notes, the rest we probably be laughing on each other, and when we do, boy its like burning 1000 calories a minute, lol. These are very good points, and my favorite is : ‘Time for ourselves. Alone. A moment of solitude, you might say. When we can curl up in our bed with a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea (or coffee, or chocolate) and read a book (or books) without any disturbance from the outside world. Can be a fireplace too.’ - oh I love moments like that, yeap sometimes we have to give up man for a blanket, lol. Thanks Lena, enjoyed it very very much. Anna

Well, I have a thing for tom-boyish girls so I can chalk out a few things from the list I guess.
But most of the things feature in my ‘What I would like to do with my girl’ list, so it shouldn’t be hard to pull off. Will let you know in another 50 years how that worked out for me.
