Challenge Game: Are You In?
Earlier this week I came across something which is called Einstein Puzzle. Though I could not find any proof the riddle’s author was really this famous personality, it was not the point. The point is that supposedly only 2% of people can solve it. Isn’t it a challenge? It was to me. After 15 minutes I had the solution but already did not care because an idea struck me. Why not to make such a challenge on the Magazine? Without thinking too much on details (I can always add them later) I decided to announce the Challenge Game on The Colors Magazine.
For the next 10 weeks every Friday I will post a new challenge for you, my readers. I will do my best to offer you the ones, the answers for which you won’t find that easily by just googling it. Else what’s the point, right? For each answer (correct one, of course) you will get points. After 10 weeks we will have a winner. And the winner will get a prize. Honestly I don’t know yet what the prize will be. But what I know is that the prize will be something material and I will send it to you personally from Russia. That much I know now, will update you soon.
Now to the rules.
1. Everyone can participate.
2. There will be 10 challenges, one on each Friday.
3. You have a week to find the answer. The answers should be mailed to contests@thecolorsmagazine.com. Make sure that I receive your answer before I post a new challenge.
4. The correct answer I will post the next Friday along with a new challenge.
5. I will also post the names of all participants and the points they have received, each Friday.
6. You don’t have to take part in all 10 challenges. It is up to you when and how you participate.
7. I have a system of points. It matters how soon you send your answer and how complete it is.
8. To win is great but don’t forget to have some fun.
Ready?
Challenge 1
This one is of the same kind as Einstein Puzzle.
There are 5 people of different nationalities (Norwegian, Swiss, Sweed, Greek, Irish), living in different houses (yellow, white, red, gray, green), driving different cars (VW, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Ford), playing different sports (Football, Badmindton, Volleyball, Rugby, Tennis) and drinking different drinks (Beer, Tea, Milk, Wine, Espresso). All we know about them is:
- The Greek lives directly next to the espresso drinking person.
- The VW driver lives directly to the right of Rugby player.
- There are two houses between the Football player and the person drinking milk.
- The Volleyball player lives to the left of the person drinking beer.
- There is one house between the Swiss and the beer drinking person on the left.
- The Swede lives directly to the left of the espresso drinking person.
- The Ford driver lives directly to the left of Rugby player.
- The VW driver lives directly to the left of the person drinking wine.
- The Football player lives directly to the right of the person drinking tea.
- The Irish drives the Mercedes.
- There is one house between the house of the person driving the Porsche and the gray house on the right.
- The Football player lives to the right of the Tennis player.
- There is one house between the green house and the house the Irish lives in on the left.
- The red house is directly to the right of the yellow house.
Who lives where?
