Contest entry #1: Acceptance
I’m sitting in the midst of many people, yet I’m alone – dreadfully alone. He means the world to me. He doesn’t have much longer now.
He whispers softly “Be strong, I know you can do it. I’ll always love you”.
I’ve learned from him, and because of him, I can speak these words.. I’m gay.

I’m glad you didn’t use his sexual preference as a shock element but subtly used it end his inner conflict.

Yes.. The best one line of this 55 fiction is the last line - ‘I’m gay’ Which actually changes the story which otherwise seemed.
