Change the World or Screw it: Your Call
21st century.
Globalization. Democratization. Humanization.
Overpopulation. Poverty. Disease. Terrorism.
Where do WE stand? What is our role? What do we want? Who are we and why are we here?
What can we do for the world or rather if the world needs us to do something?
Every single day you wake up; go to school, college, office. You do your home responsibilities, care for kids or parents, have fun with friends or just stay alone.
Every single day you are a small part of this machine with 6 billion elements.
And every single day you don’t care how this machine is working and if one day it just stops and refuses to move any further.
And when you think you can/should/have to change something, a fallacious thought crawls into your mind “Why me? Someone else could do it.”
Somehow we never hesitate to complain.
About economy, about politics, about ecology.
About youngsters who have no idea what respect means.
About the seniors who are never satisfied with what we have to offer.
About schools which don’t give qualitative education anymore.
About politicians who act for their own advantage only.
About government which never follows proposed course.
About the prices rising. Poverty level increasing.
But somehow we forget that in the end it is us who make up society, we who have chosen this government, us who act unwise in hope that someone else would take up our responsibility. Hell no! Nobody will. Because in the end everyone gets what they deserve.
And it seems we deserve this world full of degradation, pain, fears, deaths.
Because we are INDIFFERENT, IGNORANT, SELFISH.
Because we hope for someone to come and help us. Because we expect someone to change the world for us. Because we are comfortable where we are and it feels good enough to live in illusion of facing the great future which again SOMEONE will prepare for us.
The only thing is that NOBODY will change the world for us unless and until we do it ourselves.
It’s easier to blame the problems on someone else. When we let go of our efforts to change other people, we take responsibility for our own growth and change. We can turn things around only by realizing we are a part of this.
Not a part of a crowd but a part of intelligent humans who want to change the world by their small deeds which turn out to be not that small.
We should be able to take up a responsibility of being citizens of this planet.
Should be able to make choices.
Take the weight for these choices and live up to them.
Spending the rest of our lives without any fears for the future of planet.
Without the fear that our children will blame us for being so coward to fight for what we love, being too lazy to stand up for what we believe, being too irresponsible and in the end for screwing up.
It is so easy to keep your eyes shut and pretend as if nothing is happening. In this case there is a misconception that we can’t be blamed for anything. But there can’t be a bigger self-deception than this one. Doing nothing is worse than taking this responsibility up and fail.
It is our duty to accept responsibility, to possess courage, confidence and vitality; and inspire others to hope for a better future. Only together we can do it.
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can choose any direction to go. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who will decide where to go…
But then you can go together with many or you can hide. Choice is always yours.

I was at first worried that I had not searched out to replace my job, and my paycheck both but, I trust in what the day brings me and it always rings true. I stay in the “Now” best I can manage and feel my way through out any given day. I have an childhood friend who is all grown up with her own kids but, her life is turning inside out and she is willing showing up in full respect for your new Self. So I jump in as invited to fill in the blanks, and make sure that she and each one of four kids is receiving and giving respect. One on one, or two or three or all four, it’s all good and fine and redirects my mind. I take them each one and they show up willing to assist me in my volunteer work. They are less impressed but, I am pleased just the same. Five various personalities for me to juggle and mingle and identify.
This has been a fascinating and challenging Summer.
Be well.
Do good.
All ways.
All days.
Stay true.

It is good when you feel what your way is and you do your best to go this way and contribute to other people’s life. It is really important but many of us either forget or dont manage to include this into the busy schedules of our lives.

The paths we choose…ongoing… so make the in roads to whatever change we hold dear…..I believe we are aware on some levels of the intensity of this need to act and living the crazy busy life on others… so that at times choice ….or lack of same simply becomes ..
Are we awake or asleep?

Yes It Is correct…NOBODY will change the world for us unless and until we do it ourselves. Everyone is expecting to change the world.. No one trying to change themselves..We have to accept responsibility& never expect things to happen.. Struggle and make them happen… Excellent & Very Thoughtful Post! Love it lena:)

Thank you, Jaishree
I guess we often forget that we have to start with ourselves, it is way more simpler to expect others to change.

Welcome here
I do feel like this every now and then, not like permanent, guess we all come through such phases, but then life eats us up and we have other things to concentrate on in order to survive.
